It is with great pleasure that the Simcoe County Suicide Awareness Council invites you to Save The Date for the Annual World Suicide Prevention Day event, happening at 10 Salt Dock Road, Parry Sound on September 10th, 2024 at 1:00pm. This is a free in-person gathering that offers a space to meet and connect with others who have had similar life experiences and remember those affected by suicide, carrying the message that it’s ok to talk about our feelings. We share the message that engaging in dialogue with compassion and curiosity will promote understanding, connection and can provide tremendous relief.
World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) was first launched in 2003 on the 10th of September by the International Association for Suicide Prevention with the endorsement of the World Health Organization (WHO). The 10th of September each year has been designated as a way of focusing attention on the problems of suicide worldwide.
